Ancestor worship

Ancestor worship means ancestor soul worship. In many countries, living humans perform rituals to ancestors’ souls and follow a tradition of respecting them by frequently visiting their graves or keeping their portraits at home. The living humans come from their ancestors’ genes. Hence, there is always a strong cosmic energy connection between the ancestor’s souls and the living human beings. Thus, the soul energy of the ancestors is always ready to help the live family members. Their helping power is subject to the strength of their soul’s cosmic energy and ability to handle it. If you desire to obtain blessings and energy benefits from your ancestor’s soul/parent’s souls, then you must understand the energy status of your ancestor’s soul. This can be seen as below:
• The Graveyard is a human soul's starting point for the afterlife. Do not think that your soul is resting in peace. The afterlife and related struggles start for a human soul when it is buried. If the dead body is cremated, the human soul gets destroyed, and the cosmic energy link of soul energy particles is abruptly delinked, which may be called the death of a human soul. Thus, the dead body of ancestors/parents must be buried safely within a well-designed coffin. Family members who desire to live an eternal life together must bury their bodies in a particular burial place and nourish them through daily food energy. Such a burial place is called their Pithru lok (A Graveyard for a family member’s soul).
• The living humans must adequately maintain the ancestor’s grave and perform frequent energizing rituals to help their ancestors’ souls intact. Food offerings help the human soul to grow. If anyone arranges to bury their ancestor’s/parents’ dead bodies within their home backyard, it will be the most comfortable place for a human soul to take care of. Some people perform fire rituals near burial places to enhance that soul’s strength.
• By obtaining such energy from the rituals at the graveyard performed by the family members, the souls of such ancestors can exist in the cosmos without immediate dispersal, and their soul’s cosmic energy can try to be intact.
• In due course of time, the ancestors’ souls would have learned to absorb cosmic energy from the food ingredients offered by the family members in the graveyard. Such energized souls may slowly try to provide some of their cosmic energy to the living as blessings that they obtained from the rituals offered by the family.
• Generally, living humans do not continuously perform energizing rituals and food offerings to the ancestor’s soul energy for a long time. They are busy with their own lives and think about their ancestors once a year. Thus, the energy level of the ancestor’s soul will be fragile and not sufficient to bless the humans. If any of the ancestors’ souls can absorb the cosmic energy directly from the cosmos, they are not much dependent on the rituals of living humans.
• If the ancestors had already practiced any cosmic energy handling practices like mantra chanting, Agni puja, meditation, etc., then after their deaths, they may learn some more techniques by their self-efforts to hold their soul energy intact. If they do not know any such skills, then the worship of such an ancestor’s soul is only for showing gratitude towards them, and we cannot expect any effective blessings from such ancestor’s souls like the blessings from the gods.
Good parents who worshipped some godly souls in their life can be promoted by our efforts and energizing rituals as our Kula devatas (Clan gods). Such souls can be initially named as Amman if they are female or Ayyanar if they are male. If they are buried in a private land / family graveyard, we can offer food energy frequently to energize their souls. Food offerings (Tharpana / padayal) to the ancestors’ souls must be served on a plate. It should not be offered on the ground in an unclean way which is an insult for their souls. Nearby their burial, we can construct a small room for them to reside. Such places may become a worship place if their souls can exist eternally.
Some ancestors’ souls might have been blessed with salvation through some gods whom they worshipped in their life dedicatedly. We do not know such afterlife secrets. There are great chances that we can attain salvation through our ancestor’s souls if their souls have attained godly status through the gods whom they worshipped. We should never forget to worship our ancestor souls. Clan gods and ancestors’ souls are the reliable souls in earth to support our souls’ afterlife.
